RISE professional - Research Internships in Science and Engineering - gives recent graduates, Master and PhD students in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology and Physics a unique opportunity to gain practical, career-building experience working in a German company for the summer. Undergraduates who are RISE alumni or former DAAD scholarship holders are also invited to apply. All participants receive stipends from DAAD to help cover living and travel expenses
To apply for a RISE professional internship you must: 1) be a student enrolled in a Masters or PhD program at a North American university (at the time of the internship) in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science or Engineering (or a closely related field) 2) OR be an undergraduate RISE Alumni or former DAAD scholarship holder in a relevant field studying at a North American university (at the time of the internship) 3) OR be a recently graduated student (graduation in 2007 or 2008) from a United States or Canadian university/college and hold US American or Canadian citizenship 4) Applicants must prove that they have student status at the time of the internship. Note: German language requirements depend on the nature of the internship. Some require at least an intermediate level of German language skills while others require none at all. In addition to RISE professional DAAD offers another program focusing on universities and research institutes (RISE). Parallel application to both RISE and RISE professional is NOT possible. Duplicate applications will not be considered.
