Institute for Humane Studies Scholarship & Fellowship
Purpose: The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) awards up to $15,000 for undergraduate juniors and senior and Masters students interested in advancing liberty through a scholarly career.
Qualifications: Undergraduate juniors and seniors and graduate students are eligible. Awards are based on academic and/or professional performance, relevance of one's work to the advancement of free society, and potential for success.
Scholarship: The IHS PhD Scholarship awards $1,500 to entering and currently enrolled graduate students in doctoral programs. 50 graduate scholarships are available to applicants intending a career in academia and whose work advances the principles of individual liberty and economic freedom. Preference is given to applicants doing work in the humanities and social sciences, particularly economics, history, philosophy and political science.
Fellowship: For IHS alumni, the Humane Studies Fellowship is a non-residency fellowship program that awards up to $15,000 per year to pursue a liberty advancing career in academia.
