From Salt Lake City, Peter is a double major in Psychology and Russian. Already a winner of a Graduate Summer Research Mentorship Fellowship and the UCLA Distinguished Graduate Fellowship, the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship will only help Peter further his academic success. Peter says his undergraduate research with Dr. Michael Larson on the electrophysiological correlates of cognitive control helped prepare him for the NSF fellowship. Peter says his experience as an undergraduate research assistant served as a springboard for his passion for psychological science and allowed him to carry a scientific study from conceptualization through data collection, analysis, and ultimately to publication. Peter's future plans include working in academia and maintaining a program of research on the neural substrates of cognitive and affective control.
