Wyatt is originally from Mapleton, Utah. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering and is currently pursuing a PhD in Robotics and Motion Laboratory (Ramlab) at the University of Michigan. Wyatt's most influential experience as an undergraduate was working under Dr. Guido Bender at the National Renewable Energy Lab during a summer internship sponsored by the United States Department of Energy. Wyatt received 1st place in the BYU Student Innovator of the Year competition in 2012. He was very fortunate to participate in the Crocker Innovation Fellowship in 2012, where he founded Owlet Baby Monitors and worked as Head of Product Development.
