Paul Niedfeldt is a double major in Chinese and Accounting and is a recipient of the Gilman International Scholarship. Most recently from Crystal Lake, Illinois, Paul has lived in many different states in the Midwest and on the East Coast. Paul is enrolled in the Chinese Flagship program and credits his participation in the program for making him competitive for the Gilman scholarship which he will use to study abroad in China. In 2006, Paul went to the GOTV (Get Out the Vote) campaign to St. Louis, Missouri, to campaign with the Republican party which Paul describes as a “enjoyable and unique experience.” After graduating from the Accounting Masters program, Paul plans to work in Management Consulting with one of the Big 4 accounting firms. He plans to work specifically within their Chinese Services Group. Paul sees himself working as a CFO and ultimately as a CEO in a Fortune 500 company with a large base of operations in China. Paul loves to play sports and has participated in intramurals every semester/term of his college career. He enjoys music, movies, and the fine arts (plays, musicals, acrobatics shows, etc.), is a recipient of the Confucius Scholarship, and was recently married.
